Something Vs. Nothing

“It is not going to help if I do the Arabic classes consistently, so there is no point in me focusing on the classes,” A 7-year-old student said.

Usually, lots of people focus on the result of the long-term trip, not that I’m here to say that the result is not important but to focus on and highlight the importance of trying. For years I have been teaching languages [ Arabic & English ] and it sounds that the result or in other words obtaining the language is the MAIN and the ONLY thing that the learners are looking for. which eventually leads to different negative feelings such as frustration, disappointment, and maybe giving up learning the new language.

We - teachers- should always remind our students how proud we are of them regardless they achieve the what is needed or now. Only time can help them as long as we help them to find their passion when it is lost, to help them get on to their foot when they feel down.

It is not easy to teach the student and to get him/her to realize that such feelings are part of the normal process to reach the needed results. However the teachers normally try to save time by not talking to the students about random things, and sometimes they find it silly to waste class time talking about any other thing not related to the subject matter.

I find that the educational process is a mixture of different items [ Achievement, fun, time management, discipline - if needed, listening to their life stories attentively, watching their emotions ] It is quite hard to balance such an equation, but it is really important for the teacher and the parents to work together to find different ways to encourage the learners “students” and help them to understand how the educational process goes.
