Appalachian Mountains

Appalachian Mountains and is also referred to as the Blue Ridge Mountains. It’s a chain of mountains that runs from Virginia, southward across western North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. The tallest mountain in the chain is Mt Mitchell in North Carolina. It’s 2037 meters tall.

These pictures were taken especially for us from our friend who lives in Nothe Carolina, Bill Hodgson, while his visiting his sister Katherine. August 2021

Brown mountain in the background. These mountains are old and worn down

The lane to Katherine’s house taken from the car.

A highway sign showing us the road ahead has a lot of curves, so we should slow down.

The side of Katherine’s house showing the wooden deck surrounding it, overlooking the tree tops behind the house. There is a steep drop off with a beautiful view overlooking the mountains. It was taken from the car so there is a reflection of the dashboard in the photo. We’re going back in October and I’ll get pictures from the rear of the house. It’s a beautiful view!

A far off mountain peak.

Starting up the mountain. You can just barely see the mountains ahead!
